Andreu World America presents the book Chairs, 50 years of design and a story to tell, edited and distributed by RBA, designed by Antonio Solaz and directed by Ramón Ubeda. It is the first time a Spanish company promotes a publication of such characteristics where it fits everything related to the piece considered to be the queen of design: the chair.

The history of the chair. Narrated by Anatxu Zabalbeascoa, journalist and art historian, who makes a meticulous trip throughout the history of the object that has been more often designed in the modern era.

Andreu World. Another story, Andreu World’s history, the most important Spanish firm exporting contemporary design seating -founded by Francisco Andreu-, that has to be congratulated for its first 50 years of life and thank its contribution to the design culture.

Industrial Culture. The manufacturing nature from a company such as Andreu World, that close to the factory shows its particular way of preparing the wood. To value all the effort and multiple processes required to transform a plank into a comfortable seat..

The designers. All the professionals who have collaborated with Andreu World during these years, which are a good sample of the best Spanish specialists and illustrious foreigners like Mario Bellini and William Sawaya.

Chairs begins with an exceptional prologue by Jorge Wagensberg, it includes a chapter dedicated to the International Design Competition, and ends with a literary appendix titled: “Histories to be read while seating”, written by Rosa Regàs, Alicia Jiménez Bartlett, Mercedes Abad and Ramón de España.
