Fire Code Standards
CAL 117
All upholstered seating products conform to California Technical Bulletin 117.
CAL 133 (Passes NFPA 261 BLDG fire tests also)
California Technical Bulletin 133 is a more stringent fire test for furniture manufactured for use in certain public areas and buildings. To meet the requirements of the CAL 133 Fire Code, a special blocker material and flame resistant foam – blocker material  prevents fire from spreading – it is upholstered between the foam cushions and your textile choice to ensure that your chair meets the toughest fire code in the country.

Sideways static load
(EN 1728:2000 6.13) With the seat fastened using stops on each side leg, the test is performed in line with the specifications laid out in the highest structural endurance level of UNE-02015373:2007, by applying  a 180kg loading arm with a vertical force of V=760 N. (Level 3) for 10 seconds, repeated 10 times.

Forward static load
(EN 1728:2000 6.12) With the seat fastened using stops on each front leg, the test is performed in line with the specifications laid out in the highest structural endurance level of UNE-02015373:2007, by applying a 180kg loading arm with a vertical force of V=620 N. (Level 3) for 10 seconds, repeated 10 times.

Stackable chair drop
Two chairs are stacked on top of one another and a 10kg weight (standard EN 1022:2005, section 4.4) is placed on the top chair, as close as possible to the backrest. The two chairs are lifted to a height of 20cm (level 3), as laid out in the highest structural endurance level of UNE-EN 15373:2007, and are then left to drop at a 10º angle from the horizontal plane. This test is performed on one front leg and one back leg.

Combined fatigue test seat / support
(EN 1728:2000 6.7) There are applied vertical and horizontal forces on the seat and on the back of V=1000 and H=300 N respectively, 200.000 ciclos (nivel-3), with a cadence not superior to 40 c/min. The number of cycles used fits to the highest level established in the table of values of test for structural resistance in UNE-EN 15373:2007.

Static weight test on seat and back
(EN 1728:2000 6.2.1) With the armchair fastened by means of ceilings in the legs, and realizing the test with the requirements established in the highest level of structural resistance in UNE-EN 15373:2007, it is applied a load on the seat of a vertical force V=2000 N. (Nivel-3)  during 10 seconds, repeated 10 times.
